Cut
flowers

grew into
a St. Paddy’s day
bouquet
washed in
watercolor. -
Song bird
This mixed media
began with
delicate ink markings
and then
transformed by
watercolors,
aiming to honor
the
song birds
and the
coming of
spring. -
Tulip Two Lips
This tulip
grew from
a powerful
seedling
with muscular
branches,
and hand-like
leaves,
and then
she looked at me
and laughed,
for she had
grown two lips
and she sang and
smiled. -
Sweet Angie
Sweet Angie,
a beautiful lady,
sat next to me,
ringing in the
New Year,
and it is the
simple sweetness,
in her eyes,
in her heart,
that I hoped
to capture. -
Orchid speaking
These orchids,
on display,
bloomed,
again,
this time on paper,
from a single line,
then more,
and finished
with a splash of color. -
The Feeding
Four inches of snow,
and the birds
are hungry,
making a perch
at the feeders
standing room
only. -
Wild thing
This creature appeared one day,
invited by my imagination,
who was out to play,
then
a single line
dabbed in watercolor,
and a wild thing was born. -

Mums, Mums, Mums,
So many textures,
layers,
colors,
easily missed,
but come alive,
when drawn. -

High heels,
out to strut,
line
dancing,
tapping to the music,
soon to discover,
they’ve become,
personal,

The House of Women,
the voice
of compassion,
reason,
truth,
empathy,
caring,
and the
ship of
leaders. -

The daily doses
of water
brought these lilies
out to full bloom,
begging to be
seen,
sketched. -
Mates for life
The male cardinal,
feeds,
then feeds his mate,
and she in turn,
does the same,
as they should,
they are mates,
for life. -
A vase of flora
A vase,
filled with lilies,
carnations,
and tips,
dipped in blues,
and greens,
a line drawing,
vivid contrasts,
with a dollop
of watercolor,
accent,
bring to focus,
the spectacular blooms
